Drew was a competitive wrestler in high school and wrestled for a club for the first half of his college career. After the club dismembered, he found CrossFit through a friend. CrossFit gives him the competition he enjoys and a community of others who are competitive yet work together to help each other out.  Now, he is working to spread that sense of community with every one at CrossFit Rockland.

CrossFit changed my life as I know it. A bold, yet true, statement. After a life filled with playing competitive sports capped by a 3 year Div. III lacrosse career, I needed something that would continue to push me both physically and mentally. A friend introduced me to CrossFit and from then on I never looked back. Gone were the days of the monotonous 2 hour gym routines. In are the quick, intense, body and mind-altering CrossFit sessions. Never would I have thought that a 3 minute workout named “Fran” could be so satisfying. I attained the level 1 certification to develop  my skills as a coach so that I can share the experience that is CrossFit with others. CrossFit continues to be a major part of my life, not just as a workout program, but as a different way to approach "living".

I have been involved in sports & fitness for more than half my life...including the time spent as a professional ping pong player in utero...what started as weightlifting during captains practice for lacrosse later turned into the typical meathead like obsession with the gym. Eventually I became certified through a variety of organizations, but most notably the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I continued as a CPT for many years eventually becoming a head trainer and fitness manager for NYSC up until the point I decided to enter the world of corporate America. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 by a great friend of mine. He had been using CrossFit methods in his training with US Special Forces so I gave it a go and tried my first CF WOD, she was "Cindy" and she handed me my a** on a silver platter...I have been CrossFitting ever since! Soon after my "Cindy" experience I completed the CF Level I certification and from there continued my CrossFit education in other areas and applied these methods to my friends. Together we continued to show up day in and day out and the rest is history!

Debbie has been in the gym for over 10 years, but never found a program that she was excited about… until she approached some guys who were doing something different in the backroom of the gym. “You’ll start on Tuesday” she was told that day in April 2009. She began CrossFit the next week and hasn’t turned back.  Long gone are the days of 60 minute cardio sessions and 60 minutes of weight lifting. The intensity in a 20 minute AMRAP CrossFit wod definitely beats the hours she used to spend in the gym, not to mention the measurable results! She is eager to have the opportunity to bring others into the CrossFit community!

NASM CPTC
RRCA Running Coach
AED/CPR Certified

staci@crossfitrockland.com

As a child, Staci consistently failed the President’s Physical Fitness Challenge; unable to finish the mile, incapable of performing basic strength and flexibility assessments – always picked last for kickball.  As an adult, however, Staci has completed numerous marathons and 50k races, and would like to tackle the 50 and 100 mile distance (simply because they're there). An NASM CPT and RRCA Running Coach,  she is still working to get her first muscle up (and any number of gymnastics skills) as well as a Boston Qualifying marathon time. By no means a Monster, Beast or Fire Breather, Staci is simply a Mortal afflicted with uncommon stubbornness, determination and tenacity (with a healthy dose of crazy thrown in!).  She has made fitness an integral part of her life, and is passionate about helping others develop an appreciation for hard work, calluses and sweat. The CrossFit Trifecta of Community, Conviction and Competition have made it possible for Staci to continue to thrive, and she looks forward to having you on board!

Michael is a certified English teacher with master’s degrees in English and in Mechanical Engineering. Formerly a distance runner, Michael discovered CrossFit in 2006 and, although initially intimidated by the likes of “Cindy” and “Murph”, made the full transition and hasn’t looked at fitness or life in the same way since. As a teacher and a coach looking to maximize gains in his clients and students, Michael finds the CrossFit methods to be more effective than any other model he has explored, and he hopes to share them with anyone entering his classes both at the school and the gym.
